Bizet - Symphony in C Major

Georges Bizet (1838 - 1875) was a French composer known for his operas, especially when you consider that to be the most popular opera ever written, Carmen.

Outstanding career as a student in Paris conservatory was Bizet. He is known as a brilliant pianist, but rarely played in public. He also won honors graduate and Prix de Rome. Three years later, at the cost of Italy, Bizet returned to France from his compositions, but found little interest. The music of other composers have earned his living. His last contract was Carmen, he is considered a failure. He died three months after the premiere of a heart attack.

C-major symphony, when Bizet was just 17 years old and one of his teachers was written by Charles Gounod's influence shows. After many years of being considered to be lost, a copy of the symphony was first performed in 1935, is available.
